• 1928 December: Founded by members of the Kadoorie family The Peninsula was built with the idea that it would be "the finest hotel east of Suez". Hotel opened in Tsim Sha Tsui.
• 2007: The Peninsula was used for a scene in the superhero film The Dark Knight, involving actors Morgan Freeman and Chin Han, who played Lucius Fox and Lau, respectively.
