Developed by the Zubair Corporation, the complex opens as Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa.
For twenty years it runs as one destination of three hotels: Al Waha (“The Oasis”), Al Bandar (“The Town”) and the adults-only Al Husn (“The Castle”).
The resort is a finalist in the Ambience and Service categories of the Oman Today Best Restaurant Awards.
The owner announces the end of the 20-year management agreement with Shangri-La in favour of a multi-brand strategy with Hilton.
Hilton takes over: the hotels become DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Al Waha, Hilton Muscat Al Bandar and Al Husn Hotel Muscat, doubling Hilton’s presence in Oman.
After renovation, Al Husn is due to become the Waldorf Astoria Muscat Al Husn, the brand’s first hotel in Oman.
