A British woman, Mrs Bronson, opens a ten-bed boarding house, the first hotel in the city.
As its popularity grows, the boarding house steadily expands.
Spencer’s buys the property for Rs 4,000.
The hotel is sold to the management of what is today the Taj West End.
The Taj West End is regarded as the oldest hotel in Bengaluru.
