Entrepreneur Eduard Ruchti acquires the Victoria guesthouse, a former doctor’s house on the Höheweg.
1865
The new Hotel Victoria, by architects Jakob Friedrich Studer and Horace Edouard Davinet, opens after nine months of work.
1869
Davinet builds the neighbouring Hotel Jungfrau.
1895
Ruchti turns his business into a joint-stock company, which buys the Hotel Jungfrau.
1899
