Opening of the Hotel under the name of North British Station Hotel. The Hotel was built for railway passangers.

The North British Railway Company, owner of the hotel merged with the London and North Eastern Railway Company.

Nationalisation of the railways, hotel employees become railway employees.

The building starts to need renovation. The Hotel has more and more difficulties to compete with other Luxury Hotels.

The Hotel reopens with a new name Balmoral Hotel in reference to Balmoral Castle. The Hotel shifts from Railway Hotel to Luxury Destination Hotel.

Acquisition by Rocco Forte. The Balmoral Hotel became part of the newly formed Rocco Forte Hotel Portfolio. Effective 14-02-1997
