The site’s origins go back to a residence of Italian merchants.
Four houses around a courtyard are built for the merchants, bankers and printers who thrive in Renaissance Lyon.
The buildings serve as a Jesuit college, then as a private residence.
The houses are restored.
They open as the Cour des Loges hotel, long run by the Sibuet family and among Lyon’s most popular boutique hotels.
The five-star property passes to the Principal Europe group, owner of the building.
Radisson takes over the hotel; a long renovation is led by heritage architect Cécile Rémond.
It reopens as the first Radisson Collection hotel in France.
