The building, whose rotunda overlooks place Bellecour and the banks of the Rhône, is built to designs by the architect Prosper Perrin.
Le Royal opens as a hotel inspired by Lyon’s grand residences.
Interiors redesigned by Pierre-Yves Rochon give it the spirit of a family home; students of the Institut Paul Bocuse staff the hotel.
Part of Accor’s MGallery collection, the hotel houses PAVYLLON, a restaurant by chef Yannick Alléno, and Institut Lyfe runs its Gourmets cooking school.
